When I went in search of greek gods. (Part 1: Athens)

I have made a new birthday tradition after moving to Germany where I try to travel to a new country on my birthday. My birthday is in June when the summers are at a peak, which makes it a perfect opportunity to get that beautiful tan by the beach. So my pick for this year was Greece because I was fascinated by its history, mythology, architecture and beaches. (Read as Desperate search for the Greek gods)

I took an early morning flight from Frankfurt to Athens. The previous night was a big adventure because of which I could not sleep a bit, Hence I slept throughout the flight. I had booked a bus to Frankfurt Airport from my town but the bus got cancelled at the last minute without a notification. I almost cancelled my trip because I could miss my flight but then finally got a taxi who dropped me to the Airport. The taxi guy was kind enough to give me a discount as well,  as it was my birthday.

It was raining cats and dogs when I reached Athens. After having a nice chat with my Airbnb hosts, I caught up on some sleep because it was still raining. While chatting with my host, I had asked her about someplace to eat at which isn't very touristy and the locals prefer. Trust me when I say that I can do anything for food. This place she recommended was on the non-touristy side of the city, it took me 3 trams to reach there, but totally worth it. And guess what, the restaurant gave us some complimentary food as well.
